Pyramid looks simple because the rule is just thirteen. The real work is deciding which pair opens the lower rows, whether the waste top should be spent now, and which stock pass is worth more than one more easy clear on the surface.
Four calls that decide whether the pyramid opens or locks
Does this pair open the row below?
A clear that exposes another card usually beats one that only shrinks the surface. Pyramid hands go bad when the lower rows stay buried while the easy pairs disappear first.
Is the waste top worth spending right now?
Use the waste when it opens the board or saves a later pass. If it only clears a shallow pair and leaves the lower rows unchanged, hold it one move longer.
Should this King go now or wait?
A King clears alone, but that does not make it urgent. Clear it when it opens access underneath or stops a stronger pair from getting delayed behind it.
What does this stock pass actually buy me?
You get three passes through the stock in total. Burn one only when the next waste run is likely to unlock real pairs, not when you are simply hoping the next draw saves the hand.
Clear pairs that open the lower rows
Early in the hand, the best pair is usually the one that exposes another card. Many losses start when the surface gets smaller but the bottom of the pyramid never opens.
The waste is not refill. It is a sequence bill.
The waste top can pair with any exposed pyramid card, but each pass changes what comes back later. Spend it when the trade opens the board, not when it only removes the easiest pair you can already see.
Three stock passes are not three free lives
You only get two recycles. Save them for the second and third pass that actually open something you still need, not for a blind hope that the next draw fixes the mess.

How do pairs work in Pyramid?
Select two available cards whose ranks add to thirteen. Ace counts as one, Jack as eleven, Queen as twelve, and King clears alone.
Which pyramid cards can I play?
Only cards not covered by another card in the triangle are exposed. The top waste card is also available.
What happens when the stock runs out?
If cards remain in the waste and you still have recycles left, turn the waste back into the stock and keep drawing. You may do this up to two times, for three passes through the deck in total.
Should I trust Hint?
Hint searches the current layout in your browser. On a solvable position you can keep following it until the pyramid is clear. The first tap marks the suggested cards or a stock draw; the second tap plays that move. If the position is already lost, Hint says so.
Why reopen a hand by deal number?
The same deal number always produces the same layout. That makes it easier to review one pairing decision, one waste pass, or one missed lower-row clear instead of guessing from memory.
